Exploring the relationship between material, form, and space
In 2014, Dutch Invertuals presented Cohesion, an exhibition investigating how individual elements can come together to create something larger than the sum of their parts. Designers from different backgrounds were invited to explore the meaning of cohesion through objects, materials, dimensions, and spatial relationships.
12 designers presented their research into the meaning of cohesion. About the interrelation between objects, materials, parts and dimensions.
The designers took on the challenge to work outside the canvas. To break away from the almost mandatory dimensions of ‘the product’ each of the designers developed one element, a layer. Together these layers create the foundation of a visual experiment; a spatial experience. This exhibition is a prelude to the next step, a new material, technique or insight.
